일손을 쉬다 (il-so-neul swi-da) – to take a break from work
I’ve just learned about this word today while writing my blog post.
I was thinking of how to say “take a break” but I didn’t specify “work”.
Nevertheless, this came up and I think it’s a great word to share since it’s pretty much used in daily life conversations.
Examples:
일이 너무 많아서 잠깐 일손을 쉴거야 잠시 후에 돌아올게.
There is so much work so I’m going to take a short break, I’ll be back in a bit.
우리 동료가 아침부터 아파서 일손을 쉬어야 되고 난 도와 줄게
Our colleague has been sick since morning so he needs to rest, I’ll help you.
